I got my hair done today at Afroqueensrock Studio, and I honestly cannot recommend this place enough from start to finish, everything was absolutely perfect.

When I first booked, the woman I spoke to on the phone was so kind, warm and inviting right from the start. Her prices were listed clearly on her page, and they were so reasonable, especially for how many hours she spent on my hair and the amazing quality of work she does great value for money.

When I arrived, I was welcomed straight away by Whitney, the owner. She has such a lovely, smiley, friendly energy that instantly put me at ease. The studio itself is beautiful decorated with the most lovely inspirational quotes everywhere, plus stunning butterflies and flowers on the walls, and a ring light set up so you can see everything clearly. The atmosphere there is just amazing; it made me feel so proud to be a mixed girl with Afro hair, knowing I was in the hands of someone who also has Afro hair, understands exactly what it’s like, and who is so passionate about inspiring others and making everyone feel and look beautiful.

While she was doing my hair, Whitney was so easy to talk to we chatted about so many relatable things, and she really made me feel comfortable and safe. She even let me open up and be vulnerable about things, and she never judged me once she just listened and was so kind. She worked so carefully and took her time, never rushing, and she was incredibly gentle not rough or pulling at all, which meant my scalp didn’t hurt at all afterwards. She also let me connect to her WiFi and go on my phone whenever I wanted, which was such a nice touch and made the time go even faster 😂. We also listened to some really interesting podcasts while she worked I actually really enjoyed them!

I got knotless smedium braids with curls at the ends, and they are exactly what I wanted! Whitney got the size perfect exactly the “smedium” look I asked for and the length is spot on too, not too short or too long. The finish is neat, clean and looks so professional.

I will definitely be coming back again I already can’t wait to try more styles and see what else she can do for me. Whitney isn’t just a hairstylist, she’s someone who makes you feel seen, understood and beautiful.
